The Aeta

The Aeta or Clan Prince is the singular and supreme ruler of a Cielcin Clan and it's worldships. The Aeta rules entirely through strength alone and all other Cielcin are slaves to it's will. The authority of the Aeta can never be questioned until it inevitably ages and weakens before being deposed by a challenger. 

The Aeta ultimately holds the fate of the entire clan in it's hands and decides where the clan strikes next for food and who will be sacrificed when the clan falls on hard times. 

Each Aeta and clan is descended from one of 13 bloodlines. All of these bloodlines traces back to one of the original 13 Aeta who served Elu. After his death, infighting began between these Aeta and their descendants have branched into new Clans as time has passed. 

The Aeta is guarded by a select group of holy slaves known as the Vayadayan. They are both the Aeta's guards and his concubines.
