ISD 16257 - Battle of Thagura
In their first official mission, the Imperial Red Company defeat the Cielcin Prince Inumjazi Muzugara at Thagura. Before the Red Company's arrival in ISD 16257, the Cielcin had sieged and farmed the planet's major cities (Pseldona, Aramsa, Port Reach, and Tagur) for over ten years.
The great worldship that housed the vast majority of the Cielcin presence at Thagura had been far out beyond the planet’s moons, where it could be assured of a stable orbit and not risk destabilizing those moons with its own near-planetary bulk. We had come in hard and fast, and burned the battleships and little raiding vessels that accosted the planet itself. By the time Ramsundar Glass and the other captains made for the alien moon, the vast worldship’s engines—great as empires—had blazed bright as suns.
Briefly—too briefly—I had spoken with their prince, Inumjazi Muzugara, had ordered the chieftain to surrender. I had given it my name, told it that I had killed Otiolo, its kinsman… but it had fled. Muzugara took its whole world away at speeds faster than light, abandoning its dying fleet in the skies above Thagura.
I did not know it then, but I had planted a seed in that moment. Inumjazi Muzugara would carry my name and the tale of my deeds back to its people, and as there were stories of me told then across the Empire, there would be stories told of me among the Cielcin ere long.

It felt strange to take credit for their freedom. I had not won the battle in orbit, though I had briefly confronted Muzugara over the holograph. That victory belonged to Otavia Corvo, to Bastien Durand and the other ship’s officers.
