About the Sun Eater Series
The Sun Eater is an epic space opera series blending elements of fantasy with the scale of far-future science fiction. Set approximately 20,000 years in the future, the series chronicles the life of Hadrian Marlowe, a palatine noble-turned-exile and his journey to become both humanity's greatest savior and its most feared destroyer, The Sun Eater. Set amidst a conflict between the galaxy-spanning Sollan Empire and the marauding alien race, the Cielcin, Hadrian details the choices that led him to end the war at the cost of the Cielcin's annihilation and countless human lives. Told in the form of a reflective memoir, the series is framed as Hadrian's own account of history, translated from Galactic Standard (Galstani) to Classical English by Tor Paulos of Nov Belgaer, a Scholiast on the Centaurine world of Colchis.

The Sollan Empire: The largest and oldest single polity in human-controlled space, comprising some half-billion habitable planets.
The Cielcin: Spacefaring alien species. Humanoid and carnivorous. The principal enemy of humankind during the Crusade.
The Holy Terran Chantry: State religion of the Empire. Functions as the judicial arm of the state, especially where the use of forbidden technology is involved.
The Extrasolarians: Any barbarian living outside Imperial control, often possessing illegal praxis.
