In Disquiet Gods, Vorgossos is revelead to have been located a few light years from Old Earth in the Spur of Orion. However, Kharn Sagara had "built massive engines into the planet's pole in imitation of the might star-drives of the Cielcin." When Bassander Lin and the Empire returned to the plant's original location, following the events of Howling Dark, they found only desolate space.

The Orchid Stair: A lush, subterranean passage in the Undying's Pyramid Palace on Vorgossos. A winding descent through an artificial garden filled with hanging orchids, Nipponese torii arches, and bioluminescent "fairy-lights," marking the path to a final gate at the bottom of the Well.
