ur shuttle landed the moment after, and presently Lord Venantian rose. I was to join him in surveying the progress our shipwrights were making on the construction of components for the new dreadnought. When it was completed, the Huntsman would be among the largest battleships in the Imperial service, a hundred-mile rival even to Kharn Sagara’s Demiurge and the Sojourners of the Exalted. The ship’s superstructure was being assembled in orbit above one of Nessus’s five moons, but many of the mighty vessel’s component parts were being assembled on the ground where gravity was more boon to the construction worker than bane to the construction process. In time, the components would be lifted into space on impossibly long cables for final installation.
